My Approach to Helping
Hi! I am Monica Lara, MA, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), in the State of Texas. I received a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from University of Texas at San Antonio in 2008. My initial training was completed at non-profit agencies, e.g., Family Violence Prevention Services, Child Safe, and Juvenile Detention Center working with adults and children presenting with trauma and legal issues. Then, I worked at Roy Maas Youth AlternativesThe Bridge and Bexar County MHMR before going into private practice in 2014. Lastly, I worked for governmental agencies providing case management, psychoeducational training, and trauma crisis interventions between 2016-2021. Thus, I bring a varied amount of experience to Path. I have experience treating adults and adolescents (age 16-17) struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, bullying, and self-harming.
Please allow me the opportunity to help you overcome everyday life stressors. I specialize in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Counseling, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I strongly believe we are all capable of achieving change for a more balanced and satisfying lifestyle. I guarantee that we will work together as a team to resolve any problems you may be experiencing.
