My Approach to Helping
Are you motivated, but feel anxious, sad or wounded? Are you feeling the effects of the pandemic? Or, are you experiencing a transition? Do you believe you are a work in progress, like I do? If so, then I think we would work well together!
Clients who have wounds, especially interpersonal ones, find that they feel heard without judgement when working with me. I don't get embarrassed or surprised and I think clients find I am warm, genuine, open-minded and respectful. My experience is heavily focused on trauma, especially interpersonal; anxiety; and parenting challenges. Talking with people in counseling is a gift people share with me and I am honored when I can be a part of someone's "story." With 20 years of clinical experience, I have had many opportunities to help people navigate changes in their lives. I believe in the importance of connectedness.
My approach is solution-focused, client-centered, and strengths-based. I have extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), CBT, and I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have experience and training in grief and provide in-home sessions, traditional office visits, walk & talk therapy and telehealth.
I believe in the importance of connectedness. Connection in therapy is critical! Connection, to me, means sitting with you in joy or sorrow and listening to your story with my eyes, ears, and heart. I would love to hear from you and have a heart-to-heart connection.
I have availability now! If you want to make a change or feel better, we can start this week.
