Have you been thinking about therapy but are unsure or afraid? Have you been deterred by stories of of therapy with no results? I understand therapy can be intimidating to those who have not experienced it,that's why I focus on a warm, welcoming approach that builds a collaborative relationship. I also believe in RESULTS and achieving the goals through a roadmap that we create. To acieve this I use a variety of treatments that are individualized for each person, a few are: Analysis, Depth Oriented, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectic, EMDR and Exposure Therapies.

More Info About My Practice

I am a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and am trained by the Center of Deployment Psychology at San Diego State University, as well as JFK University for PTSD/Trauma therapy. I am also contracted through Military One Insurance and offer discounts for PTSD treatment.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

The #1 question I get is, "How does talking to someone help me with my issues? I talk to my family (friend, husband ...) about this and it's never helped!!" To make a LONG answer a bit shorter... therapists/psychologists have years of education, internships (not to mention work experience and typically additional certifications/training: 8-12 years on average), so a good therapist doesn't just "listen", they evaluate, guide, implement treatment protocol, give referrals to appropriate resources and are proactive in helping the person. I am a proactive therapist and implement the best treatment that I feel is necessary for the person, and if I can't provide the appropriate treatment I will provide referrals.
