My Approach to Helping

I believe that connecting on a heart to heart level is what brings us to life as human beings. Often we have not learned to communicate what we need and feel in a way that can be heard and understood. Whatever theory we use as therapists only works if we can make contact with each other. I listen for what your heart is trying to say; I listen for the pain, the frustration, the passion, and the need to feel embraced by the other. From there together we find your language and your voice.

More Info About My Practice

I am an Out-of-Network provider. I will do the research to learn about your coverage, and submit your monthly statement to obtain your reimbursement. My fees are competitive and I will work with your financial circumstances. I have been in practice since 1975 and I thrive on taking this journey of self-discovery with you and consider it a privilege to be invited to join you. Call for an initial appointment to find out if we are the right match.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am deeply skilled in listening for the meaning beneath your words and language. I listen for internal conflict and bring it to light. I listen for needs that may never have been noticed or recognized. I am skilled at putting words around the nondescript feeling you may have been grappling with. I am comfortable with your discomfort so that we can develop a space for discovering where the discomfort comes from. I thrive on your growth.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

The process of psychotherapy involves discovering your deeper self in the presence of a caring, non-judgmental witness who is involved in embracing your internal world and reflecting it back to you. The witness can illuminate patterns with you that get in the way of your communicating with the most important people in your life. Having this partner in self-care provides the safety to speak your deepest truth and to meet your most authentic self.
