My Approach to Helping
Given the Covid-19 pandemic, I am also available for virtual online sessions. I'm a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years experience and a psychology professor at a local college. I would like to help you feel better and find emotional peace and clarity. Often we seek therapy when going through tough times. We want our life to be fulfilling and happy. Yet, sometimes we end up in the same situations despite our best efforts to change.
I use Cognitive-Behavioral skills for communication, anxiety relief, and better access to your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. I also use EMDR and meditative techniques for rapid relief of anxiety and trauma. In therapy, we explore your life in order to fully understand you together. We examine how the unconscious meanings you have made of your life experiences can guide your choices and responses in future decisions. We work together to help you tolerate difficult emotions, and understand the unconscious reasons behind your choices. The aim is to create balance in your life, and help you make more successful and empowered life decisions.
I specialize in working with people who struggle with: personal relationships, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, post-traumatic stress, childhood wounds, self-esteem, chronic emotional issues, and chronic physical pain.
I offer honest and thoughtful feedback; along with warmth, compassion, and guidance. Therapy with me is a commitment to your well being, happiness, and personal growth.
