My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with an APA accredited Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master Degree in Applied Psychology. I have published books and many articles related to mental health. Since 1998 and being in the field, I have diversified my background to increase my understanding of the root of symptoms. My approach to working with clients is to get to know them based on their strengths. I use tools to collect objective data and use trauma-informed, solution focused and evidence-based modalities to work with my clients. This means everything I do, there is peer-reviewed research on its effectiveness.
I've worked extensively with adults, children, and adolescents doing therapy as well as comprehensive psychological assessment testing. My approach is focused on CBT but eclectic at the same time. I have a genuine interest in learning about my clients and helping them gain insight to make changes that may be needed to be where they would like to be.
My miscellaneous background makes it easier for me to see a problem from a broader/deeper perspective and I try to bring something unique to each client and use tools to keep them engaged. I also have created a psychologically positive atmosphere to help my clients feel comfortable and not intimidated by the process of therapy.
