My Approach to Helping
Hello. My name is Shelly. I’m a trauma-informed therapist in the southwest suburbs of Chicago who works with families, adults, and couples with a wide range of issues, such as anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and relational attachment issues. I offer telehealth and in-person sessions, focused on building a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected, and motivated. My approach is non-pathologizing and strength-based. I offer nonjudgmental space where you may explore who you are and feel empowered to change your life.
In session, I will offer a variety of therapeutic methods to help you move through current challenges toward healing and growth, including trauma-relief (EMDR, trauma-sensitive Yoga) in order to overcome symptoms associated with past events and injuries, mindfulness self-compassion, cognitive-based, and depth psychotherapy (dream analysis, active imagination).
I believe in your potential to heal and discover new meaning and possibilities. I accept and value people of all sexual orientations, identity, race, and religion. Feel free to reach out.
