My Approach to Helping

Over 20 years of experience has allowed me to provide effective psychotherapy for a wide range of problems: For example I can help prevent divorce, especially when children are involved. If both parties are willing to work divorce will no longer be an option.
Also, I work with all mood disorders: depression, anxiety, bi-polar, OCD and panic disorders. Usually, we can expect relief within a short time span.
Over time I can show you how to understand and decode difficult feelings like anxiety and depression. By so doing anxiety and depression{even panic disorders and OCD} can be seen as emotions filled with information rather than just as symptoms.
I also work with eating disorders( over and under eating; purging and cutting).
I work in a transformative way (having had ample training in Jungian psychotherapy), and so the process can become enjoyable as the patient evolves out of their 'pain' into the person they are meant to be.
Therapy, as I do it, can be fun. Humor is an element I employ; it helps to soothe during difficult sessions. And I have been doing this for long enough to know, from the patient's unconscious, what they need from session-to-session.
For all purposes, if you can 'survive me', you will get where you want to go.I'll help you get there every step of the way.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

For the most part I am able, rather quickly,to see what is causing your pain and symptoms. Once this is determined I will attempt to lead you to the causes and show you what needs to be done inorder to achieve total relief. Whether this is a problem with anxiety, OCD,depression or bi-polarity I will help you see what's causing the symptom(s)and then provide a treatment plan, that is clear and simple, to alleviate the problem(s). In line with this we can also examine the 'triggers' for addictive behaviors such as alcohol and drug abuse. Food addictions are also addressed and fall into this category. When it comes to Couple's problems I can likewise help you identify the problems that you cannot understand under ordinary conditions. Couples begin to like each other again when they realize what is actually being said, as opposed to what you think was said, by each partner. For all purposes most mental health conditions are treatable and relief can occur rather soon providing that trust has been established between the patient and myself. We all put our hearts into the process and we all want to see a successfull outcome.

Groups I Work With

I have experience with the following addictions: eating disorders; alcohol abuse: drug; canibis; gambling;repetitive bad relationships[also an addiction].rnAlso self-attack and depression which can also be addictive.rnWhen helping the client overcome and deal with hisher addiction there is a simultaneous release of new, or renewed, psychic material. The addiction has been, for all purposes, keeping parts of the personality anesthetized. As the addiction abates there is a reemergence of these personality elemeents. Almost always these personality elements lead to greater personal power greater self awareness and often creativity.rnThe formula then is: all addictions keep the person from fully actualizing hisher potential. In line with this is the inescapable fact that while there is an addiction that person cannot be fully 'in' a relationship nor can healthy parenting take place. The damage to the child or children is obvious and seriouxs.rnMany clients come into therapy without realizining that they have an addiction. They think they are coming for other issues like anger management or relationship difficulties, anxiety, etc. All of those presenting symptoms are real however none of these problems can be permanently relieved until the addiction is addressed.I cannot more strongly stress how vital it is to deal with food, alcohol drug or bad relationship addictions first. Only while this is being dealt with can the concommitant problems, originally brought into the consulting room, be addressed.rnThe results are marvelous, startling and beautiful to observe.
