My Approach to Helping
My favorite part of counseling is getting to know someone's story. What an honor and privilege as a helping professional. My approach to counseling is very collaborative which sometimes means the need is for me to direct counseling goals you are really struggling emotionally and behaviorally and need that extra support and accountability; other times it means we are side by side and otherwise it is absolutely you who is guiding treatment based on your own needs and goals. I have several directive and nondirective treatment strategies depending on your needs. If you are someone who is more structured and appreciates clear guidance, cognitive behavioral therapy may be quite suitable for you. Otherwise, you may be someone who wants to come to a session and verbally process what is going on and dig deeper into the underlying issues. We individualize treatment toward your needs and I am absolutely looking forward to getting to know you!
