My Approach to Helping
Trauma is defined as an emotional response to a disturbing event, such as rape, natural disaster, the death of a loved one, or any other life-changing event. Your trauma can disrupt daily activities you enjoy like work, relationships and being social with friends. This disruption can be frustrating but there is a way to cope and feel happy again. At Purposeful Counseling, I work with courageous individuals, like yourself, that seek help to deal with their negative thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we will work by building resiliency and diminishing anxiety and other negative emotions to get you back to an optimum level of functioning by using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Re-Processing) Therapy. You cannot erase what happened to you but you can learn to work through it. And I'll be there to help you along your journey.
