My Approach to Helping
I know what it's like to struggle and feel overwhelmed and even like the suffering is not going to end. We might think that no one cares or that we can go it alone. If we do reach out to people, often they don't "get it" or they force us to look at the positive. This might leave us feeling more alone; frustrated; unheard; not validated and not understood.
Its definitely not easy to make the decision to speak to a professional. Therapy is not about me being in a position of power telling you what to do or thinking I am the expert. It looks different for every person and will change over time.
I can help by offering both online and in person sessions. This is a safe place to explore your present situation but also underlying issues. Sometimes what we go into therapy for is not what is uncovered. I want to work with you and develop your strengths as well as make sense of whats going on in your life and how you might change the way you think and feel about your situation. Overall, I hope that through the therapeutic process you will feel better able to navigate difficult times.
