My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Humanities from Florida Atlantic University in 2009 and then went on to complete my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2012.
I have had experience working with a variety of different clients in multiple settings. I have extensive experience treating clients with addiction as well as working with their families and loved ones who were working on their own programs of recovery as well. I have also worked within a community health setting and focused on assisting clients with processing past trauma and mental health issues as well. My specialties include marriage and relationship issues, family systems issues, co-dependency, addiction, trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, depression, bipolar, and chronic pain.
When working with clients I utilize a systemic approach that encompasses relational aspects of clients’ lives in order to help them to process past trauma and other issues that have continued to affect them on a daily basis. I believe in utilizing client-centered modalities in order to empower them to make changes in their lives. My number one goal is to create an environment that provides a safe space for clients to share and process various issues that they have struggled with within their lives; and by doing so work to improve their overall quality of life as well as their relationships.
