My Approach to Helping
I have a straightforward approach and take an active role in therapy. I won’t just stare at you and nod. I believe, with information, guidance, support, and the right tools, you can change aspects of your life and relationships that you don’t like. You are the expert in your life. I know how to help people move past challenges, develop insight, and take action.
I tailor my interventions to each person because there is no one-size-fits-all for therapy. We will do a lot of work together in each session. In addition, I will ask you to complete tasks or practice skills between meetings. I draw on evidence-based therapies which mean there is research and evidence to show that the strategies we use in sessions have been successful for many people. Not every intervention will work for you. That is why we will talk about your unique situation, stressors, quirks, concerns, and ways that you learn best.
