My Approach to Helping
It's incredibly difficult to be a kid today. There's so much pressure! Between school, friendships, social media and figuring out who you are, there are so many questions that run through a kid's brain every single day. Some of these questions have easy answers, and some are more complex.
As a parent, it can be challenging to watch your child struggle and navigate these waters on their own. You may not know what to do, or if you should even do anything. Are you doing too much or too little? The important thing to know is that you don't have to wait for a crisis to reach out and get help, and that's where I come in. I can help your child take all of those confusing thoughts and organize and make sense of them. We can work together to make positive changes.
More Info About My Practice
Working with kids in middle and high school is my passion. These years are so difficult! During our sessions, I'll help your son or daughter learn how to deal with challenging situations in a more positive way. I'll help them learn to advocate for themselves, grow their self-confidence and learn how to apply that in real life. Setting boundaries in peer relationships is a life skill, and we will practice this together. I'll also help parents learn to reconnect and enjoy spending time with their kids again.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Are you reading this thinking, " We don't really need therapy, things aren't THAT bad". Or maybe you're thinking "Maybe this is just normal?" If you're here, you have concerns and you care about your child. Why do things need to be really bad before you reach out for help? Stop "surviving" these ups and downs, and start thriving. Therapy is a wonderful opportunity to put everything out there in a non-judgmental environment, pick it all back up and put it together in a way that makes life easier. What's better than that?
