My Approach to Helping
Greetings! I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. With over 25 years of experience in health care and 16 years of experience as a nurse practitioner working in women's health, family medicine, and psychiatry, I understand the interconnectedness of physical and mental well-being. I value empowerment, and I'm here to facilitate your journey to emotional, physical, and mental well-being. I work with a wide spectrum of patients, meeting them wherever they are on their mental health journey.
I have expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mood conditions, depression, anxiety, bipolar, obsessive compulsion (OCD), panic conditions, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and more. My approach to mental health is patient-centered and holistic, acknowledging the unique complexities of each person. I seek to understand each patient as a unique individual by considering the psychological, biological, environmental, and social factors that have influenced their lives.
Whether you choose to use medication alone or in combination with psychotherapy, I encourage my patients to be active participants in their mental health journey and will work collaboratively to create a plan of care that is considerate and respectful of your concerns, beliefs, vulnerabilities, and wishes.
Please note the following before scheduling:
I do not perform adult attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) evaluations.
I do not utilize benzodiazepines or stimulant medications.
I do not do short-term or long-term disability paperwork.
FMLA will only be considered for established patients who have been seeing me for at least 3 months.
