My Approach to Helping
Each person’s therapy needs are different, and I seek to strike the right balance between providing support and teaching skills for a better life. My areas of specialty include: trauma treatment; anger; anxiety; depression; transgender, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQ individuals; teens; parenting support; pregnancy and post-partum issues; family therapy; adoption/fostering issues; adapting to life changes and stressors; and supporting people who love someone with mental illness or addiction.
I offer several forms of treatment including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also informed by feminist theory, awareness of oppression, and mindfulness practice.
