My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe that with greater insight, people can discover the internal strengths and skills that will bring them closer to the life they want. I enjoy working with adolescents and teens, adults, and family units. My approach integrates family experiences, social context, mind-body connection, exploration of thoughts/beliefs, and concrete problem-solving. I am an LGBTQIA affirming therapist. I engage in ongoing training related to transgender issues and am able to provide letters for gender reassignment surgery.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to office-based therapy, I offer the option of walking during sessions. This is arranged on an individual basis depending on the focus of treatment. I have found that walking is helpful for teenagers who need movement in order to relax and open up. It can also be of benefit to people who are working to incorporate more physical activity into their self-care.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Family conflict, parenting, adoption-related issues, anger, anxiety, caring for/loving someone with mental illness, LGBTQIA individuals, women's issues.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The relationship between a person and their therapist is unique to all other relationships in life, and is the basis of growth and change in this process. We will work collaboratively but ultimately with the client in charge of setting goals for therapy. I value building trust, take a non-judgemental stance, and celebrate strengths that are already in place.
When working with adolescents and teens I incorporate art and games to make therapy more enjoyable and less scary. When working with families as a unit, I offer support to all who are involved.
