My Approach to Helping
Seeking inner peace is very important to me - both in my personal and professional life. It is a privilege for me to share what I have learned with people who suffer from severe anxiety, migraines, and panic attacks. During my counselor training I often received feedback about my calm presence and my gift for working with anxiety.
Since I moved to the United States from Eastern Europe in 2009, I have developed a special appreciation for the exciting and hectic atmosphere of Northern Virginia. The adults and teens I work with often ask for advice about dealing with the high level of stress. I myself have integrated mindfulness practices into my daily life in order to stay focused, healthy, and grounded. As a college professor, I even teach my students about mindfulness and we sometimes practice breathing meditation in our classes.
If your life is overwhelming and complicated, you will really enjoy our meetings. As a professional counselor I am able to offer you a safe place to process your life events and experiences with no judgment. I have an unconditional positive regard for you, and confidence that together we can shift things and get you to a better place.
You will lead our focus and identify our goals. I will offer my expertise and perspective from a holistic point of view. After a few sessions you will begin to notice positive changes in your life. I am also trained in humanistic sandtray therapy which makes counseling more fun. I look forward to meeting you.
