Coping with depression or grief is often challenging for adults, however the situation is even more daunting for teenagers and children. Many young people find it difficult to develop their social skills, build healthy peer relationships, and manage their academic responsibilities in the classroom. I specialize in helping adolescents and young children who may be experiencing adverse behavioral and mental health issues.
While seeking professional care may be scary, I believe it is important to acknowledge a child's need for extra support. I will help your family to take those crucial first steps on your journey to improved health, connection, and happiness.
I provide mental health services primarily for children aged 3-13, and their families. My expertise includes but is not limited to treating concerns such as depression, attention deficit hyperactivity, oppositional defiance, posttraumatic stress, grief and loss, and conduct issues.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Believe me, I get it. The word therapy causes maximum anxiety and the want to figure out ways to handle the problem on our own. As adults, we can navigate that a bit better than children can. Children need us to pick up on the signs that something is wrong because a lot of the times, they can't communicate their problem. Anger tantrums, behavior concerns at school, and defiance at home are just a few examples of how children communicate their problem to us. We just have to listen to their cry for help.

Therapy isn't an easy process for anyone and will take time, patience and energy. However, the reward behind YOUR hard work would be amazing! The skills and tools learned to use in with one another could make all the difference. My advice: Just give it a try and trust the process. If it works, GREAT! Keep going, growing and progressing. If not, it may not be the right time and that's okay! As long as you made the best effort for everyone.
