My Approach to Helping
My goal is to support my client in providing objectivity, knowledge, and tools for change as well as healing. I have a wide range of experience with youth, adolescents, adults, and even seniors, I, being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community find that I have a greater understanding and knowledge of the experience of the community and can provide better insight. I welcome goal-oriented clients and can provide the structure they need but can also be free-associative and work openly at the client's pace, moving between personal issues they want to work through, using trauma-informed methods to help work through posttraumatic stress (PTSD) or need a safe place.
I work with several modalities and we as partners find the one that will get you to the place you want to be. Cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral, strength based therapy, and mindfulness, There are no rules when it comes to what works best for you, you are the expert on yourself and I’m here to facilitate what supports you most successfully.
I come from the idea of “The Wounded Warrior” I have been there and I needed to find a way out, and I was not a believer in therapy when I started as a patient and now I can’t begin to thank those who helped me get to where I am. I invite you to have the experience I had, taking down your guard and having the strength of vulnerability. This is your safe place.
