As a licensed therapist, I focus primarily on assisting individuals and couples communicate more effectively, feel better about themselves, become less anxious and gain some insight and direction. I provide clients a safe space where they can develop clearer understandings of their emotional experiences as well as the insight of how and why they got to this place.

"We can't communicate" and "I don't feel heard" are two of the most common things I hear with both couples and individuals. Much of my work is in assisting clients develop the tools and skills with which they can not only access emotions, but express them in a healthy and productive manner. This work is designed to ultimately provide a greater sense of happiness, personal growth, and stronger relationships.

More Info About My Practice

I work primarily from a psychodynamic and family systems perspective. Depending on the needs of the client, I will at times also utilize Experiential, Gestalt/Humanistic, CBT and Emotionally Focused Therapy (especially with couples). I try and tailor the way I work with each client to suit their specific needs and goals.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy can provide something vastly different for everyone. When all is said and done, I believe we're all looking to work towards being the best version of ourselves. For some people, that means dealing with a mental illness such as Borderline Personality Disorder or Bipolar Disorder. It could mean a sense of hopelessness, lost in a world of anxiety or depression. Maybe it's family or relationship struggles? Perhaps you're looking for support because you are struggling as a parent, husband, wife or child? Or struggling with your parent, husband, wife or child? Perhaps you are battling a form of addiction? Maybe you just need an impartial, non-judgmental ear from which you can be heard? Whatever the reason, throughout my life I've found great success in my own personal psychotherapy and I would be honored to be able to provide this same opportunity for you.
