More Info About My Practice
Working primarily from psychodynamic and family systems perspectives, I assist individuals in examining the origins of patterns and behaviors which ultimately lead to shifts in behaviors and moods in the present. I do not believe that one size fits all where therapy is concerned. As such, I try and tailor my approach and treatment plan to the individual I am seeing. As such, I will at times also utilize Experiential, GestaltHumanistic and possibly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when appropriate. Where couples are concerned, I have added training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy which is essentially geared towards assisting partners better process, communicate and hear each others primary emotions.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy can provide something vastly different for everyone. When all is said and done, I believe we're all looking to work towards being the best version of ourselves. For some people, that means dealing with a mental illnesses such as Borderline Personality Disorder or Bipolar Disorder. For others, it might mean feeling a sense of hopelessness, being lost in a world of anxiety or depression. Maybe it's family or relationship struggles? Perhaps you're looking for support because you are struggling as a parent, husband, wife or child? Or struggling with your parent, husband, wife or child? Perhaps you are battling a form of addiction? Maybe you just need an impartial, non-judgmental ear from which you can be heard? Whatever the reason, throughout my life I've found great success in my own personal psychotherapy and I would be honored to be able to provide this same opportunity for you.
