My Approach to Helping
My philosophy of therapy is client-centered and relational. I meet the child or teen on their level, focusing on their strengths. I use their strengths and interests as a springboard to teaching them skills and coping strategies to conquer their struggles. I use an eclectic and integrative approach which focuses on the client and the client’s individual needs.
I use an integrative approach, employing strategies and interventions from different therapeutic models and philosophies to ensure that my approach is focused on the needs and struggles of each individual client. Some of the approaches I draw from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy, and many others. I am committed to empowering my clients and their parents and helping them to achieve their goals.
