My Approach to Helping
I offer a holistic approach to self-care, taking into consideration the physical, mental, emotional and relational dimensions of self in the cultivation of effective stress coping, self-regulation, and life balance practices. I also apply family and relational systems models which take into consideration the role of existing, past and desire for relationships as a factor in mental and emotional well-being. Mindfulness and meditative practices are recognized to contribute greatly to mental/emotional health and clients are invited to learn and integrate these practices into a therapy process to the degree there is interest. The therapeutic process can provide a supportive and informative relational space in which to learn these practices as well as pursue opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of self.
