My Approach to Helping
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a board certified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I also completed the Gottman couples therapy levels 1-3 trainings. All of my training has been focused on assisting my clients in developing more effective coping skills to deal with depressive symptoms, anxiety, bipolar or substance use disorders. In every session, I focus on providing tools that clients can use at home or work to relieve their stress and symptoms. The relationship work focuses on improving ability to connect and avoiding behaviors that hurt the relationships.
I focus on helping clients discover their strengths, building a solid support system, and developing healthy lifestyles to set the foundation for life success. I incorporate the client’s spiritual beliefs into the therapy in order to holistically address their needs. As a cancer survivor, I am not afraid to enter the painful issues in my client's life. Together we can unpack the emotional problems that my clients might be facing.
