My Approach to Helping
If you are experiencing difficulties with your significant other, I can help as I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and extensively trained in relationship models. For years, I have been successfully working with couples to help them improve their communication strategies, heal from the trauma of infidelity and repair other significant relationship injuries. I began working with children and their families back in 1992 but today, I use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy because it is rooted in decades of research and practice. Years of positive outcomes is what sets this method apart from other non-researched therapies.
I have chosen this model because I want the best for you. Couples that I work with have the opportunity to complete an online, comprehensive, research-based assessment that screens for communication issues, turning towards behaviors, rituals of connection, sexual satisfaction and other dynamics that research has told us must be in healthy relationships.
While I specialize in working with couples, I also enjoy working with individuals. I am a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. I have also taught psychology and couples therapy courses at Purdue University Northwest at the undergraduate and graduate levels, have spoken nationally on the topics of healing from the trauma of infidelity, telemental health service delivery, clinical documentation, telesupervision and clinical supervision. I have also authored a number of best practice manuals for professionals.
