My Approach to Helping

My goal as a therapist is to help you understand yourself better, enabling you to make healthy choices that will enhance your overall sense of wellness. I am passionate about helping people recognize the patterns and fears that hold them back in life and will collaborate with you to develop an individualized plan to address your concerns. My specific areas of interest and expertise include, but are not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of older adolescents and adults with Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Eating Disorders.

I have an active and authentic therapy style, utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have also completed advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention Treatment (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I believe that learning to cultivate mindfulness and self-compassion in the face of mental health difficulties is a vital addition to any of these treatment modalities.

I completed my graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in 2009 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Feel free to reach out for an initial phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit for each other!
