Eating Disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental disorders which is why early detection and intervention is key to helping people recover and live normal lives. I have over 26 years of experience treating individuals and families who struggle with eating disorders. My focus is on stabilizing the symptoms while also identifying and working through the dynamics that are contributing to the illness. I am passionate about helping teens and parents identify, treat, and ultimately recover from these devastating disorders. I have extensive training in family therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also enjoy group therapy with teens and adults.
In addition to my work with eating disorders, I work with women who are in emotionally abusive relationships and those with poor self esteem, self image, depression, and anxiety. I work with couples and families who are dealing with separation and divorce as well as individuals with chronic illnesses, such as cancer.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

What I love about being a psychotherapist is the honor of being allowed to enter into someone's life. I am a very compassionate person and I enjoy helping others. I have had a private practice in both Maryland and Florida for over 15 years. I have seen many kids overcome obstacles that they never thought they could. I have seen women in terrible relationships find their strength and courage to get out of them. I have seen people overcome their fears and anxieties. I offer hope to people who feel hopeless. It is very rewarding to be a part of someone's journey towards healing, no matter what they are trying to overcome.
