My Approach to Helping
I have been trained in a variety of treatment modalities and I draw from my eclectic background to determine the best way to work with each person. I don’t believe there is one type of treatment that will fit everyone. Often people seek therapy when they feel distressed, hopelessness, or are feeling overwhelmed due to a particular event that is occurring. These are very clear times when a person will seek treatment in order to understand and overcome these feelings. However, sometimes one feels unhappy, stressed, isolated, unable to focus, or acts in a way that interferes with the enjoyment of their daily life but it’s unclear as to what exactly is causing this. Therapy is a joint process whereby the therapist helps the person seeking treatment deepen their understanding of themselves in order to make needed changes in their lives or overcome obstacles that are interfering with their quality of life. I will help you deal with the feelings which arise in order for you to understand your inner world, learn coping skills, communicate better, improve self-esteem, understand self-defeating patterns, and create change.
