My Approach to Helping
My style as a therapist is characterized by warmth, creativity, honesty, humor and openness. Starting therapy for the first time can be scary, my goal is for you to feel safe, supported and then able to take positive risks to grow and transform your life. I support you to make positive, healthy personal changes, improvement with any anxiety and depression, and progress toward your desired goals. We can help you improve your relationships, cope with negative people or influences in your life, and develop responsible, confident and self-compassionate self-images.
It takes courage to change old patterns and build new ones and I feel honored to work with the clients I have been blessed to know. With over 30 years experience, I have many tools for you to try and can help you develop and deepen already existing skills. I see my role as both supporting you on your journey and actively engaging with your process. We help you find and use your strengths, learn new tools and follow your internal wisdom.
It is my personal experience that everyone has a deep voice inside that leads to health, healing, growth, joy, peace and contentment. At times, we feel disconnected from this source. I love working in partnership to help you (re)connect to this. Each moment offers the potential to be fully present. In recognizing our thoughts, feelings and experiences as valid, we discover that all of our experiences have something to teach us and in doing so we become more fully human, more fully ourselves.
