Welcome! Seeking help from a therapist/counselor is a healthy step that takes courage. I feel honored to come alongside and assist you as you explore your personal experiences and their impact on your values, goals, and the direction you hope for your future. Your journey, including both joys and possible traumas, is valuable and important.

I have a passion for helping people much like you move toward greater health and functioning both personally and relationally. Your story is unique and full of meaning for you and those you care about. The relationships in your life help you create your journey. It is my privilege to assist in identifying emotional experiences and patterns in these relationships and work collaboratively with you.

We will utilize individual and family strengths and resources-- highlighting past successes in order to work in the direction of a better future. Family history and common patterns help to inform us in our work together. To do this, I use an eclectic theoretical approach with an attachment and emotionally focused base. I enjoy working with all age groups and use extensive training in play therapy, sand tray therapy, and other expressive therapies to help the little ones in your life find the words for things that create struggles and challenges.

I would love to talk with you personally, as I know this is a big decision for you. Blessings as you move forward!

More Info About My Practice

Our office suite is inviting and warm with coffee and tea available for a little self-care. It includes a fully equipped and cheerful play therapy room for the little ones and a comfortable office for families and adults. My fees are $85 for a 50-60 minute session and $120 for a 90 minute couple or family session. Money is a problem for many of us, however, so I also have a sliding scale based on family income and number of people in a household.

I work with all of my clients to find a financial plan that will work for their budget. I also provide invoices with the proper coding for submission to your insurance provider for 'out-of-network' reimbursement when your policy allows, and can bill as an out-of-network provider directly.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy actually means the opposite! It means you are brave and willing to work on yourself and your relationships. There is nothing weak or flawed about that kind of dedication! It means you care, and want to live life to your fullest potential.

It means that you don't want to just 'settle' for survival, but actually want to function at your best. And, it means you probably care about the other people in your life and those relationships. I admire a person like that!

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

It is vitally important that you feel safe and accepted in your relationship with your therapist. Much of the healing that occurs in therapy has been traced to the connection between therapist and client. We all need to feel that someone other than ourselves really 'gets' what we are trying to express. As a therapist, I come alongside as that 'helpful other' in a new kind of relationship, sharing your struggles with empathy as you find your way.
