My Approach to Helping
I am invested in supporting you to grow, change, and sort things out in your life. I approach therapy from a place of compassion, consideration, and therapeutic expertise. I listen to you and your concerns, and I hold the space for you to be authentic. My purpose as a therapist is to help people become less overwhelmed in life and to become more equipped to lead a more satisfying life. I also seek to support folks to lead the type of lives that embody wellness and balance.
More Info About My Practice
Please see my website for more information about me and my approach to psychotherapy. I have an office located in the Pocket-Greenhaven area of Sacramento and an office in Davis just blocks from UC Davis. I accept Anthem Blue Cross, Magellan Behavioral Health, and MHN/HealthNet medical insurance coverage. Otherwise, depending on your individual insurance plan, you may receive partial reimbursement for sessions attended and paid for. In this case, you may submit the monthly statement of fees paid to your insurance company. Upon request, I would be happy to help you with this process.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can help to address a variety of issues by helping you to develop new perspectives, allowing you the opportunity to process and discuss emotions, thoughts, and experiences, and to practice new ways of being. Psychotherapy can be a space for healing, a space to be "real," and space to gain new insights that might be helpful as you address life and relationship concerns.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Asking for and receiving assistance for your concerns is sign of great strength, resilience, and also vulnerability. Help seeking shows that you are willing to try out new strategies to address your challenges, engage in healing processes, and confront fears in a safe environment. It takes great strength and courage to approach the more difficult aspects of life. People are not weak or flawed by going to therapy or seeking help. They are courageously utilizing resources that could support their overall wellness.
