My Approach to Helping
I believe that in order to help others, one needs to take the time to listen and understand where the person is coming from. This is why my approach to counseling is based on learning about my client and understanding their needs first. In my years of experience, I have helped many people achieve their goals and prosper in their lives. I take great pride in assisting my clients in reaching their full potential in life and overcoming obstacles.
More Info About My Practice
I have 15 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy. Within this time, I have worked with an array of issues encompassing trauma, abuse, PTSD, family issues, self-confidence, anger, etc. I have learned that being eclectic and flexible in my therapeutic approach is key in helping each person as a unique individual. I enjoy helping couples and families as well, offering a more systemic approach to therapy.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to assist the client in identifying what the concerns are, helping them set goals and guide them through the journey. I'm not the expert in your life, you are! However, sometimes its hard to see things clearly and I can help clarify or help to see things from a different perspective.
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Often times people believe being vulnerable is weakness. I argue that vulnerability is strength. It takes quite a bit of strength to muster up the courage to face things that keep us stagnant or hold us back. Therapy allows us the opportunity to use this strength in starting the change we need. True change cannot be accomplished without the ability to be vulnerable.
