The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths
- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
We all experience struggles and challenges at various points in our lives, whether it be difficulty in our relationships, stressful transitions, the pressure of building a career, or trouble balancing career, family, and self-care. We may find ourselves paralyzed by anxiety, depression, and anger, unable to work our way out of the darkness they bring. I recognize that seeking therapy can be a difficult but courageous step toward finding relief from these challenges. My hope is to provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space in which you may come to understand and work through many of life's difficulties. I strive to offer support, guidance, and honest, authentic feedback. Throughout the therapeutic journey, we will work together to gain insight into patterns leading to and maintaining these issues and to learn ways to manage painful emotions, change problematic behaviors, and develop more intimate and satisfying relationships. This process may help you discover a revived sense of balance and self-acceptance, allowing you to be your authentic self and live a fulfilling life.
I have experience working with a range of issues and specialize in working with survivors of sexual assault, providing couples therapy, and treating anxiety and OCD. We will work collaboratively to define your goals and decide the best methods for meeting them. Because therapy is not a "one-size-fits-all" treatment, I use an integrative approach that is adapted to each individual and his/her unique needs and goals. I integrate methods that are supported by scientific evidence, such as Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal process within both individual and couples therapy. I strive to sit with my clients in empathy, not only in their painful moments but in moments of celebration. I value my role and take pride in the opportunity to provide you with tools and guidance, challenging and empowering you to reach your true potential and the goals you have set for yourself.
