My Approach to Helping
Seeking results? Consider working with a therapist's therapist: I'm a seasoned counselor skilled in results-oriented methods like cognitive-behavioral therapy. Unlike some cognitive-behavioral therapists, my style is responsive, interactive & versatile.
My specialties include:
scientifically researched, holistic approaches for overcoming depression, anxiety (including OCD, shyness, performance anxiety) and sleep problems while reducing reliance on medications; couples counseling and one person couples therapy (i.e., one person attends counseling) to overcome relationship impasses; breaking patterns of engaging in dead-end romantic relationships, and instead cultivating an enduring, fulfilling & loving relationship, and cultivating financial success.
As a senior clinician with over 30 years of experience and a broad repertoire of skills, I am an educator and therapist for other therapists.
More Info About My Practice
Consider this: you may find counselors who charge lower fees - perhaps just a minimal managed care co-payment. But sometimes appearances can be deceptive: what seems cheaper in the short run may turn out to be more expensive in the long run. Working with a skilled and experienced counselor may help you to achieve the results you're seeking more quickly, saving you money - and time - over the long run.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
As a seasoned and skilled therapist, I aim to work with my clients as efficiently as possible. In some situations, my clients have successfully resolved their concerns in just one or two meetings. Of course, others work for longer periods - weeks, months, or, less often, years. As long as there are no dangerous situations, I am very flexible about meeting frequency and length; some people prefer to work more intensively, and others prefer to work more gradually and methodically, and I am happy to accommodate either preference.
Early in our work - generally in our very first meeting - we will identify what specific changes you want to see when we have completed our work; in this way we formulate a clear understanding of your goals and a clear way to know when our work has been completed. It is the client who determines when therapy is complete - not the therapist. I will provide any support and guidance that is requested in order to conceptualize therapy goals, but it's your decision how often we meet, and for how long.
