My Approach to Helping
From our very first contact, and each time we meet for sessions, my intention is to be fully present for my client so he or she feels safe, comfortable, accepted and supported. Using a holistic and systemic approach to individual, couples and family therapy, we address their concerns, physical, mental & emotional symptoms and identify client's needs and goals. We assist clients to uncover thinking patternshabits that keep them stuck, develop new insights and awareness to improve their self confidence and relationships with themselves and others. Besides psychotherapy and hypnotherapy, we teach many types of experiential practices such as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, breathwork, Emotional Freedom Technique and much more so clients can build resiliency and coping skills in daily life.

Clients frequently remark how surprised they are that there are so many creative ways to help them feel calmer and more clear. Even those who have little or no prior therapy, notice how naturally they can learn to relax and feel safe in their sessions. Some clients come in for brief solution focused therapy of a limited number of sessions. Others for longer, more involved in depth healing. Insurance sessions may be 50 to 60 minutes. Holistic sessions my extend to two hours. Therapies are woven into the treatment as needed for each client. These include hypnotherapy, mindfulness stress management, mind body and empowerment skills. We offer successful strategies for panic attacks, phobias, communicating, sexuality, overcoming addictive habits. We offer options for telephone or online video sessions and occassionally in home sessions. Payments are made to Smart Solutions Inc. by check or cash.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
It is important that clients can feel safe and supported so clients can share concerns and life events without fear of judgment or feeling shamed in any way. Rapport develops between client and therapist who is a good listener, communicator and has patience. The therapist ought to be able to tune into client's needs helping the client to feel understood. The therapist should have done herhis own inner work so shehe has clarity and can put client needs first and foremost.
