More Info About My Practice
Cognitive-behavioral strategies and a narrative therapy approach inform my work with families, children, adolescents, and adults. I offer free 20-minute consultations so that we can assess our fit for working together.
Culturally-curious and sensitive, and comfortable working together with nontraditional, blended, and complex families, and individuals of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
Many of our human struggles can be seen less as disorders, which place individuals at the mercy of a diagnosis, and more as struggles to understand and thrive in our lives and in our relationships. As Michael White said, the person is not the problem; the problem as the problem.
When we approach problems as problems, and not people as problems, we find new, more useful relationships with those problems. What hidden insights, resources, and knowledge await their turn to fan the flames of your hopes, visions for the future, and goals for your life?
