My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in the State of Texas. I received a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. I have worked as a Professional School Counselor for over 16 years.
As a counselor I have experience providing services to children, adolescents, and adults who came from diverse backgrounds. I have worked with clients in the foster care system, adults in transitional homes, at risk students, domestic abuse survivors, and families in crisis. I work with clients from toddler to adult ages.
More Info About My Practice
My goal is to create an environment that allows my clients to feel open enough to share, while still holding them accountable during the counseling process. Building a great rapport is very important to me and is a key component to the counselor-client relationship. I utilize a variety of counseling treatments that include Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, Mindfulness, and Family Systems.
In my free time I love to craft and indulge in my Happy Planner. I am an avid scrapbooker and love to make creative expression t-shirts. I love spending time with my family and friends, it is the highlight of my week. Traveling also gives me a sense of adventure and allows me to discover new things to write about in my travel journal.
