My Approach to Helping
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental, approach to help you gain greater peace of mind and effectiveness in life. I see the health at the core of people (no matter what is going on) which is why clients often comment that I am totally neutral, nonjudgmental and that I listen deeply. I care for every one of my clients the way I would want to be cared about. I understand the effect of unhealthy thinking that goes on when we're in lower states of mind. This is true for all of us, myself included. Through an explanation of how this works within all of us regardless of our background you will learn how to listen deeply to yourself and then become your own best therapist, so that you spend less time with me. During your sessions you'll experience a deeper calm and an understanding of how to access that place inside of you when you most need it in your daily life. You'll be amazed at how simple it is. Through a simple understanding, you'll gain your own insights and unwanted behaviors automatically change, or drop-off, as the result of what has been called an inside-out understanding. No need for behavior modification, techniques or strategies which are typically difficult (if not impossible) to utilize when we're under duress.
I work with individuals, couples, families, children and teens.
I also offer group sessions in a conference room across from my office and "community night" where we view webinars by my colleagues and then discuss insights that occur for us during the viewing.
More Info About My Practice
My fees are the "usual and customary" $120 per hour, if you can come before 5:00 PM I offer a sliding scale fee of $90. If you wish to use your insurance, we'll decide on a diagnosis for you since it is a requirement for insurance reimbursement to prove medical necessity.
I offer a variety of formats for specific needs because the typical once a week format is not right for everyone. I offer educational group sessions; executive coaching; individual, couple, and family retreats, which can be the most cost effective approach to positive transformation. If you wish to participate in a retreat, we will meet several times over the course of 3-4 days with follow-up phone and email service to deepen the insights that were gained and to sustain positive change for the rest of your life.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love my work. What can be better than sharing what I've learned about how to access peace of mind and greater clarity in life? I teach what I have found for myself first and foremost. When choosing a therapist you want to be certain that the person you are going to learn from lives their own life with understanding and knows how to access their own health in difficult situations. I was very fortunate to stumble upon a body of knowledge regarding the health and wisdom within all of us, and how to access it even in the most difficult times. I do not subscribe to a disease model, I subscribe to a health model. Because I'll see the health in you, that's what I help to bring out in you.
What I Usually Need to Know to Help
All I need to know is how you think. That happens from listening to you. The content of what you think about is not important but HOW you think is what matters. That's what creates our habits of thinking that cause stress, worry, depression, addictions, etc. In other words, it's the process of thinking and the habits of thinking that we all can get caught up in, that will give us a negative experience of our lives, regardless of our situations or circumstances. We can't change situations or circumstances but how you relate to them will automatically change with fresh, new insights; changes occur automatically from the inside-out. Insight are the key to everlasting change.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
The teacher I learned the most from would say that in the future there will be only one diagnosis for everyone: The misuse of the ability to think. He also said that the only difference between a person who dealt well with life and someone else who was troubled was the degree to which they understood the role their thinking played in their daily lives and anyone's thinking will automatically change in a healthier direction when they gain an understanding of their psychological functioning through the gift of thought.... then you will stop thinking against yourself.
