My Approach to Helping
My purpose and passion for therapy comes from a desire to see people live full and rich lives while attempting to do so myself! How do we live fully without giving up our responsibility or our moral and spiritual values? This creates a true dilemma and sometimes a crisis. By understanding ourselves and subsequently the power we have to make choices even about our attitudes, we can live more in line with what we desire and value. My approach to helping you will be to uncover those areas of your life which you may have ignored or neglected to approach because of the dilemma's they provoke. When you are able to clearly see the true challenges you face instead of the ones created by the fog of limited thinking or suppressed emotions, your real choices become clear.
You may have trouble breaking through the 'logic' of your dilemma and could benefit from some work using Cognitive Behavioral therapy, or you may have trouble identifying what you want or need so emotional work may be necessary. You may also be a person who has a clear idea of what you want and feel but need to move forward with a Solutions Focused approach utilizing some creativity. Regardless of the problem, you have tried for months or years without progress and a professional perspective will help get your life back on a positive course.
