My Approach to Helping
My ability to connect and assist individuals is an accumulation of my professional education, life experiences, and interest in people. I hold a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology as well as a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I spent 22 years as a physician assistant in family practice, industrial medicine, and student health, giving me a well-rounded medical and psychological approach to therapy. I find that my clients solve their problems, heal their wounds, and find direction under my care, which has given me a great sense of satisfaction over the last 20+ years.
My methods include a family systems and cognitive-behavioral approach as well as brief and solution-oriented therapy. I believe in an individual approach to best meet the needs of my clients.
I am an avid traveler, which has broadened my views on other cultures and living styles. I feel extremely comfortable dealing with problems and situations arising from our multicultural population.
