My Approach to Helping

You’re so busy taking care of everyone around you there’s no time or energy left for you. Despite this, you struggle with feeling like you aren’t doing enough. You can’t remember the last time you felt like yourself. You’ve tried to manage things on your own but feel like nothing is helping. There’s this powerlessness that keeps creeping in and this gray cloud hanging over your every move. You want to feel better but don’t want to feel like a burden to others. You’re tired of feeling alone.
Imagine the ability to be present with the people you love and the confidence to live the life you always pictured. I have helped my clients achieve this, and you can too. I use several evidence-based approaches in my therapy sessions, none of which involve passive head nodding throughout the entire session.
As a Latina and first generation Houstonian, I know what it feels like to not be able to check a box and meet societal labels. I use a multi-cultural sensitive approach offering compassion and respect no matter who you are or where you are on your journey.
In our sessions together you can expect your story to be heard. Even the little details most people don’t catch. You will feel validated when appropriate, and given tools to do better when you feel like you could’ve showed up in a more effective way. You can expect to laugh a lot and cry when you need to do that too. If anger comes up, great! That means we’re up to something big. Most importantly, I want you to feel better. If I can’t help you with that, I will do my best to connect you with someone who can. If you are not sure if I can help, send me an email, I’d love to talk.

Groups I Work With

First Generation Struggles: Navigating the intense pressures of being the first in your family born in the U.S and having to figure things out for yourself and sometimes for your family too. Feeling like you MUST be successful because your family has sacrificed so much for you to get to where you are.
Chronic Worrying: I help women with anxiety symptoms put a stop to cycles of worrying, panic, and over thinking.
Recovery from Depression, Grief, and Trauma: Sometimes the onset of depression, loss of a loved one, or traumatic event can get in the way of being the best possible version of you. I will help you reconnect to your authentic self and head in the direction you want.
Exhausted Moms: You’re so busy taking care of everyone around you there’s no time or energy left for you. Despite this, you struggle with feeling like you aren’t doing enough as a mom. You love your children but feel guilty about longing for adult conversations outside of baby babble.
Everything in between: I work with women who are dealing with life transitions, struggling with confidence, and want better relationships with their partners and families. I also offer trauma-informed yoga for those who enjoy a mind body connection approach to healing.
