My Approach to Helping

Lisa Siclari is a Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP) with a passion for helping clients set and achieve their therapeutic goals. She provides individualized, empathetic, and supportive care to a variety of populations. Lisa believes that each person has the tools necessary to improve their beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and relationships with others. Her goal is to help clients identify their own personal tools and provide a comfortable and place for them to explore themselves.

Lisa has experience in a variety of therapeutic areas. She works with adults, adolescents, children, groups, couples, and families. She focuses on anxiety disorders, specifically OCD and panic disorder, depression, substance abuse, anger management, and relationship issues.

Lisa’s prior therapeutic work involved providing group and individual therapy in an outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation center. It was here where she developed her love of helping individuals with substance abuse disorders as well as their families. Lisa has extensive experience and knowledge working with clients who are struggling with combined substance abuse and mental health disorders, as well as those working through legal and relationship issues due to their substance abuse.

Lisa also has an extensive background in adolescent and teenage behavioral disorders. She has years of experience in a school setting where she worked closely with students who suffer from a wide range of intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as social and emotional problems.

Lisa uses a blend of therapeutic models to fit a client needs including CBT, Psychodynamic, and Existential techniques. She is also trained in crisis intervention practices and mindfulness exercises. Lisa also enjoys using hands on materials like therapeutic worksheets and journals to help clients visualize their goals.

Lisa holds a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling with an additional certification in School Counseling from Mercy College
