My Approach to Helping

The best way for me to describe how I approach my work with people is to say that my goal is to help others learn to help themselves.

Empowering people to rise above circumstances, trauma, neglect, conflict and pain is a value I hold dearly and I am always dedicated and caring. I believe in people's strengths and I will support you in becoming your best self, by honoring your strengths and values and working hard to improve upon weaknesses.

More Info About My Practice

I hold very strong values with regard to my work and how I live my life. Respect, kindness, care and a safe place to allow your fears to surface is what I offer to every person that comes to see me. You will be welcomed and accepted for who you are in the world and where you are in the creation of the story of wonderful YOU!

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

We are all unique and very wonderfully made. Many of us have suffered trauma at some point in our lives and I am one of those people. Going through counseling for myself has been the best decision I have ever made. The reason for this is that today, I am true to myself and I am authentic. Having experienced EMDR has helped me to pursue the study of it and I believe in this treatment for trauma very, very much. For me, it was life-changing. I have seen positive results in so many people looking for a sense of relief from the pain. The more I practice therapy and EMDR, the more I see the small but important contribution I am making to changing our environments to make them more safe and peaceful. Teaching effective strategies to minimize negative self talk, improve communication, achieve greater intimacy and building our own sense of value and worth continues to be very rewarding for me.
