When you hear those words, the new diagnosis the doctor gave you or your loved one, they echo in your head. This is permanent. This is life changing. There is life before and life after. The whole family is rocked. None of you know what to do, how to act. You try to be "normal" whatever that is. You look for support but nobody knows what to say. Chronic illness doesn't have to mean the focus of your life changes. It is possible to have a rich life in spite of it all. Together, we can find your new direction.

You are struggling with grief and your loss is unbearable. You feel isolated, alone and frightened. Nobody knows what it feels like. You are just trying to put one foot in front of the other. Family and friends no longer know how to support you. It is possible to recover and find your new "normal". It will be my honor to show you the way with compassion and warmth.

I have worked in the healthcare field for over 28 years and consider it a privilege to walk alongside you during your most difficult time.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as the therapist is to work in collaboration with you, the client. I can help you handle difficult emotions and situations. It is about listening to what your goals are and how best they may be achieved. It is using the skills I have developed throughout my career and adjusting them to each client individually. It is my responsibility to set boundaries and monitor for client safety and wellbeing.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

As a mother of a child with a chronic illness and as an individual who has made it through my own transitions in life, I have felt firsthand the uncertainty, fear, and frustration that comes with trying to manage all that is involved. No two situations are the same and I will never presume to know how you feel. With my own experience, I bring knowledge, compassion, and empathy in helping you navigate this new world.
