My Approach to Helping
Personal connection, building trust and meeting others where they are emotionally is the way of my practice. I believe in assisting other in mending, connecting and making healthy long term connections in their lives especially with themselves. I believe in connecting with a person on a human level and during the therapeutic process I will assist clients with learning how to connect with themselves and others in a healthy and realistic manner. The type of therapy modality used will be determined with you as you will be an active participant in the therapeutic process. Over the years as a therapist and as an adopted person I have learned our past is a piece of who we are but it does not need to dictate who we ultimately become.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
You are human and we all need support, nurturing and encouragement and to be honest some of us need direction. Therapy can be all of those listed and more if you find the right therapist to assist you on your journey.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
In order to make changes you need to feel comfortable with the therapist you are working with. I believe it is important to make sure therapeutically you and your therapist are a good fit. I believe in free consultations in order for you to come and meet me face to face and make a decision based on personal interaction. Change is difficult, scary and rewarding and it is important to have someone you can trust over time in order to be able to move through the therapeutic process in a complete and realistic manner. A good therapist-client alliance will over you the support you need, encouragement to keep going and a little bit of nudging when necessary to assist you with becoming the person you want to be.
