My Approach to Helping
I view individuals and couples as living within systemic frameworks. We do not live within a vacuum but instead we live in relationships with our family, our friends and work associates. We also have a relationship with ourself and with God. It is within these relationship systems that our problems show up. Seeing where, in the context of your relationship with self, God and others, that life gets difficult or out of balance (toxic or dysfunctional relationships patterns) is a beginning point. See where behaviors might be unhealthy in the relationship, causing some internal conflict (anxiety or depression). Recognizing what's not working is a first step to growth and change...healing. It has been said that Grief can be the fire that thaws the frozen self within. Looking at loss and resignation in the presence of another is known to be beneficial. I would be honored to work with you in some of your identified areas of pain including Fear, Shame, Guilt and Intimidation.

Client who experience trauma one-time or long-term can benefit from EMDR therapy. Trauma can look like always being on edge or being irritable, having anger issues or avoiding crowds, being depressed or anxious. These behaviors show up in our relationships, at work or when things are changing for as in life transitions or environmental adjustments. Whether you think you just need to talk with someone or you need helpful tools to begin to change some things, I want to help you begin that effort. I work with individuals, couples, and premaritals to help communicate better and to reconcile and improve relationships.
Do you need hope again? Whatever you have faced and regardless of your past, you are significant and you are valued. You are not too far gone. Dare to believe you can change, gain clarity and have more control of your thoughts, your emotions and your life.

I use a variety of evidence-based practices and empirically supported treatments including EMDR, Solution Focused, PrepareEnriched Premarital, Mindfulness CBT, Emotional Focus Therapy (EFT) and Self Compassion are a few of the resources I utilize. Because we are all different I want to work with you to provide personalized treatment plans aimed at accurately and effectively addressing your specific needs.
