My Approach to Helping

My practice specializes in in helping individuals and families learn to progress and grow at every stage in their lives. Life isn't always easy. In our hectic lifestyles and chaotic worlds, having someone to talk to and who listens is an invaluable resource. We often find it beneficial to have someone to support us in working through some of life's more challenging problems so that we may continue to grow individually and in our relationships. I realize that no one is the same and I tailor my technique to meet your specific needs as an individual, couple or family. Through mutual collaboration, psychotherapy can foster emotional growth leading toward more fulfilling relationships and equip you with the tools needed manage life's challenges.

More Info About My Practice

My approach is to tailor the therapy to the unique needs of every person in terms of frequency, cost and technique. The depth of my training and knowledge allow me to work effectively with a variety of issues and concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, addictions and recovery, family conflict, marital difficulties and divorce, child and adolescent development as well as more severe psychiatric diagnoses such as bi-polar and schizophrenia.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Why start therapy? Talking helps. Throughout our life spans we are constantly growing and facing new challenges. Having someone to talk to and who listens is an invaluable resource. Psychotherapy is a process through which a person, couple or family works with a trained analyst in a safe, dependable, and confidential environment. Together we will explore feelings, beliefs, behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, better understand yourself and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change and growth.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Depending on your specific needs, psychotherapy can provide short-term relief, for a specific issue, or have longer-term objectives in order to deal with more difficult patterns or your desire for more personal development. Either way, it is most common to schedule regular weekly 50-minute sessions initially, and then adjust the frequency to your needs. Because each person has different issues and life goals, sessions will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my approach to your specific needs. In general, you can expect to discuss the current events happening in your life, your personal history relevant to your issue, and report progress (or any new insights gained) from the previous therapy session.
