My Approach to Helping
The decision to become a therapist has been one of the most rewarding, creative and fulfilling choices of my life. I absolutely love working with individuals to help them resolve issues that have been plaguing them, keeping them stuck or interfering with their ability to fully engage in their lives.
My passion lies in working with clients who have experienced past relational or attachment trauma, PTSD, sexual abuse, eating disorders, domestic violence, or anxiety and depression. I also love working with couples and the entire family system to help shift dysfunctional family interactional patterns.
If I had to categorize my technique, I would say that I have an 'eclectic style' and tend to weave in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including: AF-EMDR, IFS, Guided Imagery, Expressive Arts, Psychodynamic, CBT and DBT; depending on what I believe will best serve my people and the issues they want to resolve.
Being a naturally curious person, I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, so I am always educating myself on new therapeutic techniques and modalities.
I am extremely relational oriented and I fully believe that a safe and trusting supportive therapeutic relationship is the starting point and foundational basis of healing. Because of this, my office space is designed to make you feel like you are in a tranquil, safe sanctuary.
To me, therapy is a collaborative process. It is a process where together we work to reduce or resolve the issues that you feel are important, and for whatever reasons are getting in the way of you living your best life.
Looking forward to working with you and helping you move forward. Don't stay stuck. Give me a call. Come see what a positive difference therapy can make in your life.
