My Approach to Helping

I understand that starting counseling is not easy. Chances are that you’ve tried it before, or that things currently feel like they’re too much to handle. You don’t have to do this alone. My goal is to help you reach YOUR goals. Topics may include self-esteem and worth, coping skills, psych-Ed, mood regulation, couple counseling, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsion (OCD), daily stressors, affair recovery, posttraumatic stress (PTSD) resolution, sexual dysfunction, support for LBGTQA+ or ethically non-monogamous (ENM) lifestyle, military life challenges, grief, and more. I support all beliefs and will gladly incorporate yours into sessions if that is your wish. Each appointment is truly for YOU!

I offer an honest and integrated approach when it comes to therapy. No one person is exactly alike, and a therapy plan doesn’t need to be either. I have specialty certifications for PTSD trauma treatments that are incredibly effective and also non-triggering. My office is judgment-free in every way, my hope is to provide a truly safe space for ALL people.

Counseling can look like what you need it to, and it can be what you need it to be. It is important that you find the right fit and feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. I would love to meet with you and decide together if we are suitable teammates. You deserve to reach your goals and see positive changes in your life. It’s time to focus on you!

More Info About My Practice

Some come to counseling to heal from pain from the past, others are in a season of life that feels too heavy to carry. No matter what has brought you to sessions with me, I will meet you where you are and work as your teammate to help you reach your therapeutic goals; whatever they may be.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Unfortunately, this happens for a number of reasons. It takes strength to continue seeking help when you?ve had a negative experience, which is important to acknowledge. I hope that sessions with me are not only a corrective experience, but a fresh start to your therapeutic journey that are completely focused on you and your specific needs.

Groups I Work With

I work heavily with individuals who have experienced traumatic events in their lives. Providing resolution of posttraumatic stress (PTSD) symptoms and assisting in the healing process beyond resolution therapy is important and meaningful. I also work with individuals who are experiencing some kind of sexual dysfunction whether single or in a relationship. I expect to complete a PhD in clinical sexology and sex therapy in 2025.

Other populations I work heavily with include LBGTQ+, gender and sexuality, ethically non-monogamous (ENM) and the kink community, personality and mood diagnoses, military and veteran life issues, as well as individual and couples counseling to assist with healing, anxiety, depression, and more.

When working with PTSD and trauma resolution, my most frequently used modalities include Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) and I-Rest level 2 (fully guided or dyadic based on need). I am an E-RYT 500 YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) trauma-based yoga therapist and will integrate yoga therapy for individuals as requested. Modified yoga therapy for individuals with injuries or amputations is also available. In July 2022 I will be a certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) provider as well.
