My Approach to Helping
I have over thirty years of psychotherapy experience working with adolescents, adults, families and couples. In my therapeutic philosophy and approach the value of connection, and therapeutic alliance is emphasized. This is at the core of my work regardless of the model of therapy I am working in. With each client I strive to create a supportive, caring and collaborative environment integrating evidence based therapy models to meet the their unique needs. I use a number of therapy models including; cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness and acceptance therapy, family systems therapy, Gottman couples therapy, and insight oriented psychotherapy.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can be helpful as it commits you to focus on your personal goals, and avoid or replace automatic patterns, of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have not helped you successfully achieve your goals in the past. In the context of the therapeutic alliance you will experience support, and encouragement, as well as an "accountability partner" to hold you to your commitment to change and reinforce changes you make in the therapy process.
